Fashion trends always start out subtle and evolve from season to season until they become ubiquitous and fade away.  But the latest news in fashion is a little alarming.  Subtly revealing a body part in fashion is seductive and appealing, but the baring of bodies so entirely in the Spring 23 collections has become appalling.

There is something to be said for leaving a little to our imagination which makes a woman far more mysterious.  When the runway shots of the latest clothing collections to hit the stores this coming spring look less than desirable on the women that would make the garments most flattering, I think it’s time to rethink how to return to a sensuous version of appeal.  Isn’t that what the great designers are recognized for….understanding how to drape the body with mystery and desire rather than just letting it all hang out?

Yes, fashion reflects our current culture, which is decidedly messy at the moment, but I don’t think bearing all gives absolute pleasure and confidence to the women who wear it and the men who delight in it.  A little more sophistication in contemporary style is the fashion I crave.
