Thanks to Billy Porter, Timothee Chalamet, and various other celebrities, men in skirts are becoming common to the eye. And I always thought the issue was women in pants, and freedom and comfort lie in the eye of the beholder. Gender identity is getting more fluid by the day.
A lot of the Men’s European collection shows featured skirts on men. And my social media director, who is our company’s eye on what Get Z is doing, and craving, mentioned that he couldn’t wait to be able to wear a skirt to work, especially in the summertime when it’s so hot in the city! I was grateful to understand firsthand why men wanted to wear a skirt!
Think about the difference between the reasoning for women in pants (ease of movement and empowerment) and men in skirts (comfort and avant-style). All you need is Timothee Chalamet in a skirt, and it looks very natural to us all! If you’re Timothee Chalamet, you are actually ON SKIRTS!

All you gurls out there, you’re just jealous because you can only dream of looking this good in these clothes
Men’s avant-style setters are rock stars and celebrities, and our current crop of both is pushing men’s fashion as far out there as women’s fashion these days. I think this non-gender movement in fashion will create great street art over the next couple of years. That is until our eye gets very used to not knowing who is what and not really caring.
